What a magical evening! The irrepressible activist & author Dan Glass and the legend that is Julian Hows took a group of us on a meander around the Trafalgar Square area on Thursday to hear about the centuries of queer history brought to life by Dan’s brilliant book Queer Footprints. We reflected on the thousands of people lost through HIV/AIDS and the thousands more living with HIV today, as we marked what would would have been Terrence Higgins’ 80th birthday on Tuesday 10th June. A single red rose was laid outside Heaven nightclub where Terry worked and first fell ill before becoming the first person known to have died of HIV/AIDS in the UK.

We then moved onto St James’s Park where KPMG Breathe network, the DfT, and Journey joined forces for our third annual picnic, with a raffle where we raised £450 for Terrence Higgins Trust. It was such a lovely relaxed event in the park with 50 or so LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies assembled from across the transport industry. Thanks so much to everyone who made it happen!
