Join us for an inspiring evening as Matthew Page guides us through his unique and powerful journey of self-discovery, exploring the rich intersections of his queer identity and cultural heritage. Matthew's personal story, including his appearance on BBC's DNA Family Secrets, offers a compelling lens through which to understand the complexities of identity, belonging, and self-discovery within the fostering and adoption system. This event is a unique opportunity to hear Matthew's insights and engage in discussions about how these intersecting identities shape lives. We warmly invite our networks from the Afro-Caribbean Network (ACN), KPMG Families Network, Breathe (KPMG's LGBT+ network), and external friends and clients to come together, share experiences, and foster a deeper understanding of these important themes.

Speaker Bio:

Matthew Page (he/him) is an intersectionality and identity thought leader, speaker, and consultant. A Trustee at The Fostering Network and a care-experienced champion, Matthew's appearance on BBC's DNA Family Secrets with Stacey Dooley, where he traced his DNA and roots, significantly altered his life's path. This experience led him to depart from his career in the City of London to dedicate himself to the fields of identity and intersectionality. He collaborates with local authority children's services and corporate clients, including NatWest, NHS, and Transport for London, on topics such as intersectionality, inclusion, inclusive language, and digital detox, all while advocating for care-experienced voices. Matthew is also a 2023 Black Legacy Award honouree.
