Join us for an exclusive guided tour of the NRM in York learning about the LGBTQ+ history of rail brought to life through oral history clips

About the Event
We are delighted to invite you to this guided tour of the exhibits of the National Railway Museum seen through an LGBTQ+ lens. As part of this, we will listen to some of the clips from the 'People, Pride and Progress' oral history project curated by the NRM to capture the experiences of LGBTQ+ people working in rail.

The itinerary for the afternoon:
Arrive for event & mingle in Search Engine Research Centre (12:30-13:00)
Participants split into two groups, one undertaking each of the following activities (13:00-14:30):
Guided LGBTQIA+ tour
An audio recorded session where we play a selection of clips from the new oral history collection to the group and discuss as a group how our experiences relate, which would be recorded to go into the archive itself
Tea & Coffee & Mingle (14:30-15:00)
Groups are changed over, undertaking the activity they previously did not (15:00-16:30)
We can then use the space until 17:30 if we need to
