About the Event
For Pride Month 2024, KPMG have come together once again with Journey, the LGBTQ+ network for the transport industry, to host a social and networking event on Wednesday 12 June for LGBTQ+ colleagues working across the transport industry. This will be an opportunity to meet people from different organisations, socialise over a drink and hear from LGBTQ+ leaders across the sector – and while transport will be the focus, everyone is welcome.
After successful events about the trans experience of aviation and queer expression on the 1970s London underground, we will now be exploring LGBTQ+ history and activism both from and surrounding the transport industry in London. We will be welcoming Dan Glass, who will, through the lens of the writing within his book 'Queer Footprints - A Guide to Uncovering London's Fierce History', trace us through the footprints of local queer presence from past into present, looking at the ways in which local groups are now fighting to preserve community, and the significant challenges of carving out space for queer living in the future.
